Pastor Thawng Lai was born into a Christian family and in 2000, at the age of 17, he was born again after hearing an Evangelist preaching in a local meeting. Desiring to study the bible he enrolled in ACTS College in Bangalore, India where he studied for four years. After completing his studies in India he returned to Myanmar where he began teaching Bible students in his hometown of Yangon, located in the southernmost part of Myanmar. While teaching the Lord moved on Thawng Lai to start a church among the Buddhist people of Kalay, Myanmar, and he named the ministry Agape Ministries.
The remote town of Kalay known as Kale or Kalaymyo, lies in a rustic part of the Sagaing Division, very close to the eastern border of India next to the more popular Chin Sate of Myanmar.
The ministry has expanded beyond the fifteen students taking in seven orphans. They provide living accommodations, food and other necessary needs for the student and the orphans.
On August 3, 2010 Pastor Thawng married Kyikyi and they now have two sons and one daughter. Kyikyi works in the ministry as a Sunday School teacher, woman's leader and helps to administrate the living conditions of their students and orphans. Together Thawng Lai and Kyikyi are building a strong work that is bringing many Buddhist to Jesus Christ.
In 2014 the Lord moved on Pastor Thawng to move to an area near Kalay the locals call Zawland. This is a very strong Buddhist area that got its name from the tribe of people who are Zaw and the land is where they settled, thus the name Zawland. The Lord had moved upon Pastor Thawng and his wife to go and start another church among the these Buddhist people. They have developed five fields of ministry in the Zawland, namely Gangaw, Thinli, Simidaw, Zemeni and Hmole, and there are pastors at each of these churches.
On December 13, 2016 Pastor Thawng Lai changed the name of their ministry to Bless Ministries of Kalay, Myanmar. We sent them a sponsorship letter and a certificate of licenses for ministry to Pastor Thawng. They have joined with the over 275 churches and ministries that have chosen to become a ministry under our leadership by taking on the name Bless Ministries. We take our role very serious and will continue giving Bless Ministries of Kalay, Myanmar our full support and leadership.
Their vision is to build churches among Buddhist population and help those who cannot study from the Buddhist or Christian families ways to understand that Jesus is the Savor and there is much hope in Jesus Christ.
They want to continue growing the living conditions for the seven orphans they have and continue growing the educations conditions for their fifteen students. The education ministry needs to grow into a Bible College capable of taking students and pastors through a Master's degree. The orphans need a suitable orphanage that will provide proper living quarters with a kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. It is our vision at Bless Ministries Mobile USA to grow with Bless Ministries of Kalay so we can help them build these two facilities.
